This is the first TV transmission recorded (and wonderfully preserved) using color video tape. That happened in Wichita, Kansas, on October, 17, 1958. The show was an acclaimed Emmy award-winning NBC special, "An Evening with Fred Astaire", sponsored by Chrysler Corporation.
