Million Dollar Weekend is a 1948 film noir starring Gene Raymond, Osa Massen, and Francis Lederer. It tells the story of a stockbroker named Nicholas Lawrence (Gene Raymond) who has grown tired of his life in Los Angeles and decides one day to escape, stealing cash and securities from his company worth about a million dollars. While enroute by plane to Shanghai, he meets Cynthia Strong (Massen) who is leaving Los Angeles after the mysterious death of her husband. A blackmailer shows up threatening to turn her in for murdering her husband unless she pays him and she asks Nicholas for help. Soon the case containing the money is stolen by the blackmailer and Nicholas and Cynthia pursue him in an attempt to get it back. Nicholas desperately wants to find it as he wants to return the money because he regrets what he has done. This film was released on October 29, 1948.
