This is one of 26 Private SNAFU cartoons made by the US Army Signal Corps to educate and boost the morale the troops. Originally created by Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) and Phil Eastman, most of the cartoons were produced by Warner Brothers Animation Studios.

A relatively faithful (with minor liberties for box-office appeal) factual re-telling of the development and use of the atomic bomb in World War II, the film received a mixed reaction from audiences, still weary from nearly four years of World War II and now on the verge of the Cold War. Interestingly, the trailer manages to captures the controversy and curiosity of the American public about the atomic bomb, while still selling the movie as both a dramatic, historical chronicle and a romance as well.
