Color Film of London (1927)
Fascinating vintage color footage featuring scenes of London from the 1920s. This film was shot by Claude Friese-Greene, the inventor of the Friese-Greene Colour Process. Beginning in 1924, Claude began putting together a series of shots called The Open Road. Several locations are shown including Hyde Park, Westminster, London Bridge and the approach to Trafalgar Square.

Alice's Wonderland- Walt Disney (1923)
Alice's Wonderland is a Walt Disney silent film produced by Laugh-O-Gram Studio in Kansas City, Missouri. In the short, Alice visits an animation studio where the animators show her various scenes on their drawing boards. Later she dreams of taking a train to cartoon-land. Alice was played by child actor Virginia Davis.

Classic clip from the 1926 silent classic The Scarlet Letter. In this scene, the Puritan villagers attempt to take the illegitimate child of Hester Prynne (Lillian Gish). Their plan is stopped when Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale (Lars Hanson) arrives and convinces them that this is not a good idea.

London's Outer Ring (1924)
"London's Outer Ring" is one of 12 'Wonderful London' travelogues made in 1924 and restored by the BFI National Archive to offer a fascinating glimpse of London life during the silent era. This extract shows the stadium at White City, built for the 1908 London Olympics, as well as buildings from the 1908 Franco-British Exhibition.

The Patsy (1928)
The Patsy is a 1928 silent comedy-drama film directed by King Vidor, produced and starring Marion Davies for her Cosmopolitan Productions, and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was Marie Dressler's "comeback" film after a long slump in her movie career.
